Keeping Our Ear to the Blogosphere!
Spring is in the air -- can you feel it? Outside Blog Fresh Towers here in New York City, the dogwood and cherry trees are blooming and we're ready for the thaw, even if it's not quite warm enough yet to put our anoraks into storage.
Though we didn't necessarily intend it that way, this week's show definitely has a spring-like feel. You can't help but feel hopeful with cheery songs like The Mystery Jet's "Young Love," Canyon's groovy "Apples & Pears," and fresh blossoms from DeVotchka, Fleet Foxes and former Go-Between Robert Forster. There's also nothing grumpy about that new Free Blood track that kicks it all off. Even the typically icy Ladytron seem to be warming up (slightly) on their new song, which is our Blog Fresh Chart Selection this week.
To talk about all this fresh and seasonally-appropriate music are some of our favorite blogs: Green Peaness, Lost in Your Inbox, Yer Mam!, It's Hard to Find a Friend (who donates a song from his exclusive Backstage Session series), and The Finest Kiss.
We would also like to mention that Blog Fresh is now on Facebook so if you'd like to join our little corner of that world, we'd love to have you. Meanwhile, shake off the cabin fever and jump into this week's show! We're off to read Wordsworth and eat some asparagus...
