WHAT THE MUSIC BLOGS LISTEN TO!

Do you have the Holiday Spirit? We've mostly been too busy, though tonight that may change. It's the Blog Fresh Office Non-Denominational End of Year Blowout, so we play on being full of Joy this evening -- and when we say "joy" we mean "watery domestic beer." We'll probably order a pizza and watch Pay it Forward, like last year.

We are literally paying it forward with this week's show, with some new releases that don't actually drop till next year. Disconap hypes the new Hot Chip single (which really is pretty great); My Big Mouth Strikes Again is psyched about the upcoming Raevonettes; and our host Abbey spins the new Kills track. Meanwhile, Quick Before it Melts pays it folk-ward (geddit?) with a singer-songwriter who clearly worships at the shrine of Nick Drake, and Sound Bites pays it forever with a nine-minute epic off the new Wire EP to take us out of the show. Plus, we run down the latest Blog Fresh Chart... which may seem a little full of 2007 mainstays, but that's probably because it's "Year-end" and "Best-of 2007" time, and the blogs having making their lists (if not checking them twice).

Speaking of... a little Heads Up about next week's show. It's our End of the Year Fantabular where we'll talk to loads of blogs about their favorites (and not-so-favorites) of 2007. It'll go up a bit later than usual, Wednesday, December 26 (aka Boxing Day), but it will also be longer than your average show so we think that makes up for it. Until then, happy holidays and thanks for tuning in. Oh, and we're warning you right now, we're going to be late getting into the office tomorrow.
